Paulo Nenflidio

Paulo Nenflidio is a visual artist who works at the intersection of art, science and technology. He graduated in Visual Arts from ECA – USP and in electronics from ETE Lauro Gomes. His works include sculptures, installations, objects, instruments, drawings and paintings. Sound, electronics, movement, construction, invention, randomness, physics, control, automation and improvisation are present in his work. His pieces resemble creatures, musical instruments or science fiction machines.
In 2003, he participated in the Bolsa Pampulha artistic residency in Belo Horizonte, creating the work “Música dos Ventos.” In 2005, he received the Sérgio Motta Prize for Art and Technology for his work. In 2009, he undertook an artistic residency at the ASU Art Museum in Arizona, where he produced a solo exhibition during the residency period. He participated in the 7th Mercosul Visual Arts Biennial and the Paralela 2010 exhibition. In 2011, he received the CNI SESI Marcantonio Vilaça Visual Arts Prize and in 2013, the Funarte Marcantonio Vilaça Prize. In 2017, he participated in the International Biennial of Contemporary Art of South America. In 2022, he participated in the 13th Mercosul Biennial.
