Installation with wooden pendulum, electronic circuit and crystal glass with water
Multiple currently in two private collections.

A wooden pendulum is in perpetual motion. At the peak of its movement is a crystal glass containing water. Small changes in the air flow around the work influence the movement, creating an intermittent touch. The pendulum touches this container so subtly that it is possible to see waves on the surface of the water, but it is not possible to hear the sound. As it is a work that talks about silence, the name of the work is a reference to John Cage’s composition 4’33”, composed of 4 and a half minutes of silence. In this work, the measurement of time is converted into space and the name 4.33 x is the length of the pendulum in a variable measure. At the same time, the length of the pendulum determines the duration of its oscillation. Here, time is converted into space, which in turn is converted into time again.

The work 4.33 x was exhibited in the solo exhibition Invenções Híbridas at Caixa Cultural SP in 2019, curated by Fernanda Vogas, and in the solo exhibition Tempo Infinito at Pinacoteca de São Bernardo do Campo in 2021. It also participated in the collective Sons que escapam at Sesc Santo André in 2021, curated by Paula Braga.
