A sound device made of wood, strings, electromagnetic coils and an electronic circuit
The Infinite Bicord is a sound device made of two strings tuned in unison. A magnetic feedback system makes the strings vibrate infinitely. The intensity of the vibration can be controlled. There is also the option of setting the string to vibrate in higher or lower harmonics. Another switch controls the possibility of the string vibrating in even or odd harmonics. By moving the solenoids along the rails, different harmonics are reinforced.
The Infinite Bicord was exhibited in the CNI SESI Marcantonio Vilaça Visual Arts Prize itinerary, and in the artist’s solo exhibitions Tempo Infinito and Invenções Híbridas.
