Sound sculpture made of wood, double bass string and tuning peg, printer scrap and electronic components
Infinite Monochord n3 is a sound sculpture that has an internal positive electromagnetic feedback circuit. Small vibrations in the string are captured. A circuit amplifies these vibrations and produces a magnetic oscillation at the same frequency as the vibration of the string through a solenoid. The string then begins to vibrate stronger, reaching maximum intensity. Through feedback, the string vibrates infinitely. A mechanism made of printer scrap moves the position of the solenoid in relation to the length of the string. Different harmonics are produced depending on the position of the solenoid. It is a machine that produces automatic music.
