The Lunar Module is a sculpture based on the first manned vehicle to land on the Moon. It is an electronic pianola that produces automatic music. An optical circuit reads a written composition. It has several elements activated by the score (motors, keyboard, lights, exhaust fans, smoke, bubbles, etc.). It has an original composition “Trip to the Moon” divided into 10 parts: 1st General Test of Equipment; 2nd Departure; 3rd Exit from the Atmosphere; 4th On the Way to the Moon; 5th In Lunar Orbit; 6th Moon Landing; 7th Silence on the Moon; 8th, 9th and 10th Encounter with Selenites, Escape from the Moon and Reentry into the Atmosphere of Planet Earth
Total duration 20 minutes.
The Lunar Module was created especially for the 7th Mercosul Biennial and was also exhibited at Connect presents A Gentil Carioca – IFA Gallery Stuttgart – Stuttgart, Germany.
