Millstone is an automatic percussive music machine. Kinetic and sound sculpture. A water pump pumps water from the collector to the reservoir at the top of the object. The water runs down the pipes, filling the millstone. When full, they hang to the side and empty. When empty, they return to their original position, striking the steel plate. Behind the plate, a magnetic pickup captures the vibrations and sends the signal to an effects pedal. On the pedal, the sound is processed and then sent to the amplifier. The amplifier amplifies the signal, generating the sound. On the back of the object, more than 20 different effects can be selected that change the timbre of the sound.
