The Solar Crab is a sculpture with a shape based on this crustacean. When exposed to sunlight or artificial (incandescent) light, a motor is activated, causing the shell and legs to vibrate. Its eyes turn on and off, interfering with the vibration of the sculpture. It is part of the “Solar Animals” series, which are sculptures with solar cells. Sunlight is converted into electrical energy, activating the sculpture.
