It has an electronic circuit that produces a sound similar to that produced by a cricket in nature. The artist visually analyzed the sound of a cricket from the waveform. Based on the time periods, an electronic circuit was designed that simulates the sound of a cricket. Several crickets together produce the effect of a sound environment populated by many crickets. The sculpture is powered by solar or artificial light energy.
Solar Cricket No. 3 was created especially for the “Art as Breath” Festival of the Itaú Cultural Institute.
