Sound Pendulums is a plastic sound composition composed of six percussive pendulums tuned to the pentatonic scale. Each pendulum has an electromagnetic feedback system that keeps the pendulum’s movement constant. At the end of the object, there is a metal bell hanging from a support with a rail and crank. The crank adjusts the position of the bell in relation to the pendulum. The ideal adjustment is the distance at which the pendulum gently strikes the bell. As the bell swings, sometimes percussion occurs, sometimes not. A mechanical way of introducing chaos into the work.
